Ways to benefit from TelecomYou if you are in a position of authority

Networking groups often suffer from segregation into two sub groups of those who want something and those who are in a position to grant it. This puts a strain on all those who have the title, the power and the means to make it happen for those who are in need.

In my opinion this is a myopic view of looking at things. There is always something an individual can get out of the collective titles, knowledge, and experience of almost 5000 people in this community. Here is a suggestion of how people who are in a position of authority can benefit from the group.

If you have the title (organizational authority) you can give:

1. Employment
2. Contracts
3. Advice
4. Career Guidance

You can get:

1. The real story your managers may not be telling you
2. Best practices other organizations are employing
3. Learning informally about the latest technology and process
4. Establishing contacts across organizational boundaries
