Intel unveils Moorestown, taps into MID market

Intel yesterday unveiled its new 'Moorestown' platform - scheduled for commercial release in the 2009-2010 period - and confirmed its intention to be a major silicon player in the emerging Mobile Internet Device (MID) market. Nokia targets Chinese growth

Nokia is looking to China for future mobile growth following last week's news that the world's largest handset vendor suffered a 30 percent slide in Q3 profit together with falls in sales and market share. HP targets ‘prosumers’ with new strategy

Hewlett-Packard (HP) today confirmed recent speculation it is moving into the consumer market, unveiling two new smartphones and a distribution agreement with Vodafone in Europe. The HP iPAQ Voice Messenger and the iPAQ Data Messenger will be available in the UK exclusively from Vodafone from next month, with other European countries to be announced. France unveils Digital Plan, looks to mobile

The French government yesterday unveiled its 'Digital Plan,' comprising 154 measures covering Internet access, mobile telephony and broadcasting that aims to provide all French citizens with access to broadband services. Symbian Foundation sets out developer vision
